House Arrest
In certain cases an individual may receive a house arrest sentence instead of imprisonment; this is often the result of a successful plea bargain in which the offender can avoid jail
- House arrest requires you to be confined to your home for a predetermined length of time
- During this time, you will be required to wear an electronic bracelet around your ankle
- This broadcasts a continuous signal which allows authorities to monitor your movements
- You may be required to wear a SCRAM bracelet
- This will allow authorities to remotely monitor your BAC as well
- You will also be responsible for the costs of monitoring
A FORMER PROSECUTOR will know what to expect from the prosecution, and therefore be in the best position to help you get this expensive and invasive consequence reduced, or in some cases, avoid it entirely
