SR-22 Regulations

  • Almost every state will require you to file an SR-22 form if you are convicted of DUI/DWI
  • Delaware, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania do not have SR-22 requirements
  • You will still be required to maintain your SR-22 even if you move to a state that does not require it
  • SR-22 is a form that your insurance company files with the DMV on your behalf
  • The filing itself costs very little, but your premium will be considerably higher as a result
  • If you do not maintain your SR-22 for the length of time specified by the court, you will face further penalties
  • Check our interactive state map for details on SR-22 regulations in your state

SR-22 form filing is a burden that often can last years. This narrows your insurance choices considerably, and in some cases eliminates them completely. This can have a serious detrimental effect on your personal and professional life. A FORMER PROSECUTOR understands the long term consequences of a DUI/DWI conviction and is in the best position to make sure you don’t have to suffer them.
